Scottish leather painter, Katy Bell, also joined us to paint stylish Scottish-themed illustrations on small leather goods from Strathberry - a beautiful way to add an extra personalised touch.

Celebrating Scottish Craftsmanship
On Thursday evening, we co-hosted an event to celebrate the beauty of craftsmanship with fellow luxury Scottish brand, Hamilton and Inches. At the heart of this was highlighting the importance of cherishing these handcrafted trades.
Strathberry were honoured to join Hamilton & Inches at their grand showroom, which is based on George Street in the historic city of Edinburgh. With both of our brands sharing aligned principles, we saw the opportunity to learn more about one another’s craftsmanship and the fine materials that go into making our products.
Hamilton & Inches has been Edinburgh's destination for fine jewellery since 1866. Still to this day, the brand has maintained their jewellery and silver workshops, investing into the future of craft through the Hamilton & Inches Academy, educating and fostering talent amongst the next generation of craftspeople.
The evening started with a warm welcome from Leeanne Hundleby - our co-founder, and showcased interactive demonstrations from highly skilled artisans, displaying to customers in attendance the careful and intricate processes behind making some of our most iconic bags.
Senior designer for Strathberry, Valaria Zambon, was in attendance sewing the salpa pattern to create an East West Mini and Nano Tote. This process is done by hand for every one of our bags, to maintain the highest quality and longevity.
The Hamilton and Inches team were demonstrating on the evening how they make some of their most popular pieces of silverware, with a display showing how they work with casts to create the intricate and beautiful jewellery available for purchase in their Edinburgh showroom.
Showcasing the human connection that both of our brands have to the products we sell, along with the meticulous craft skills that are passed down generation to generation to bring these to life, highlights the richness and importance of these trades.
At Strathberry we want to celebrate the spirit of modern Scotland, seeking the extraordinary in our products through world class artisans.
Watching and listening to the artisans perform their trades reminds us of the beauty, precision and artform that goes into both brands' products, and the fact that true luxury cannot be rushed.
